Wow! "Most Excellent Game!" #This is my very first time entering into this rhelm of reviewing!# I must say this game was much more entertaining and enjoyable than I had hoped/expected~going by the previous reviews. All of which had me excited to start-I was roughly 14 minutes into the "demo," and purchased the game from there! I always play in the most advanced mode available, typically without help-"trying" to keep this 'ol brain in shape! ;# Although I DID need to alter my mode of play* for a few puzzles, which were quite unique and enjoyable. Not too hard, but thought prevoking. #*And with the ability to change your mode of play at anytime while playing,WITHOUT having to start "another profile", that is always a blessing!# And returning to the "Hardest mode" to continue. #As a fellow fishie offered great advice when one is stuck-"if you just hit your windows flag button, it automatically drops down your game-pausing in effect, so you can go to the walkthrough and return simply by clicking back on the game from your toolbar!" WONDERFUL advice!# "THANK YOU" so much for that option Dev's. The storyline was very unique, and the graphics were equally well done. #I truly enjoy games that have one traveling back and forth, so to say a "true" adventure game.# Makes one think! The HOG's were well done-not junkie, and there weren't too many, just the perfect balance. Along with a FROG thrown in here and there. The voice overs were well suited. And the length was excellent. I played all the way through, with the very few "rapid" breaks one must take! ;# It took me around 5+/-hours. #Playing in the hardest mode.# #Again. loving the ability to switch play modes during game play.# Very much worth the price~I am a big fan of the Blue Tea Dev's. And this game was not a dissapointment. Chalk up yet another win for both~BT Games and BFG! Also, along with the 2 for 1 offering, I am than
Loved the game based on the trial..now I will have to buy it.the music is great..visuals are crisp and clean..the voice overs are outstanding..even just right amout of hos....great game over all
After having bought all three "Dark Parable" games, the one "Macabre Mysteries" game, I couldn't help but get my greasy paws on this one - Fabled Legends : The Dark Piper. The one negative is that in all the other Blue Tea games, the HO scenes make up one item that you'll need, like an antique book or elaborate key. The regular HO scenes are still workable, though. Interactivity is the name of the game, everything and everyone have layers to them, and the plot [I'm about halfway in] is still keeping me guessing. Beautiful, fluid characters meet with full-bodied and sometimes haunting music. The puzzles are highly original, like all of Blue Tea's counterparts. I certainly recommend buying not only this game, but the others mentioned in this review. Long, complicated games, with intricate plots and beautiful scenes. Two really big thumbs up. :D
Another great game from Blue Tea. 3 game mode change if desired via the options, wide screen function ... Cinematic incredible. Graphics still as beautiful and profound. Superb music both shocking and disturbing. Animations, effects, sounds, light and amazing colors. The presentation of the game is very careful in every detail. 20 enchanted objects very difficult to locate, there are sometimes two in a scene and you have to keep coming back to get them apart. This time Blue Tea included scenes of hidden beautiful but sometimes difficult level of interactivity objects because there is no indication and multiple objects are interactive but not all are used for other " classical " objects it's relatively easy and clear. Thoughtful, easy and interactive mini-games,it's really original and enjoyable. Sets and places filled with magic and mystery and investigation punctuated actions and information to discover. A map that shows only interesting places. A raven,a key .... we use to move forward. A diary with a tab for each location and adjacent information. A game not to be missed. Blue Tea thank you for your dazzling at any point of view and thank you Big Fish Games to offer us these quality games games.
Get your walking shoes on and chase the Piper around old Hamelin! And you'll need to take a snack along and bottled water to sustain you on the journey! This is a very long game, especially for a SE and the map does not transport you to areas of activity. I'd recommend taking some notes along the way to remember where things are that need actions because the map really is very basic. But strangely that is a good thing, it made me think and actually work my way through the game, much as it used to be in the old days of adventure games. That is where the challenge is in this game, you have to work through it, there are no shortcuts/ There is not really much to complain about here, the story is good, the HOS are decent, the characters okay, the cut scenes nicely spread out, and there are some surprises along the way. There are some objects which (if you can find them in the scenery) add to the refresh time for your hints bar. There are 4 objects to find which are needed to progress further. All in all, very satisfying game.
What a fun game! Purchased it immediately after playing the demo. Three game modes to chose from - I chose normal and found it to be just the right amount of challenge which made the game very enjoyable. Storyline was good and the graphics were excellent. The map was helpful because it indicated the places of interest and the ho scenes were pretty easy and interactive. All in all, I really enjoyed this game and would certainly recommend it.
Love it love it love it dont normally write reviews but this is great just right level of challenege for me graphics and music great - more like this please
Truthfully, this is not a fast starter. For the first 30 mins or so it seemed very "rote" - find this, put it there, do that, rats rats rats. However, once the Duke gets involved it turned not just into a story but a twisty "oh I can believe that happened" story. Suddenly I would get an object be on the way to use it in the right place and BAM - road block, new plan. Things happened I didn't expect and the game took on a whole new fun turn. Graphics are fantastic, HOS screens are clear and objects easy to define. Puzzles are easy to easy-medium. Didn't need to skip any. Music adds and the voice-overs are great. A solid game all the way around.
This is after playing the full SE game. One of the reviewers mentioned that this was really different from the other games from Blue Tea and they were correct, but that isn't always a bad thing. No this isn't the pretty pick out the goodies to assemble something to use, it is a rather dark and sinister game, but it was really good and fun to play. You don't really have a journal, but you do have the objectives and a map. The map does not transport you and you must do all the running around yourself. That is the only reason I lowered the fun factor. You do a lot of running and trying to figure out what to do next. There are other helpers as you progress through the game. Now for all you folks who love CE games because of the morphing objects and all that stuff. I forgot about the morphing collection until I hit one by mistake. So I survived without all that and did very well, thank you. Don't you forget to look for them and look like a fool like me. The quality of the graphics and sound were Tea quality. No complaints there. The colors and backgrounds are very well done and since this is a sinister story the music fit right in. Not bad at all. The challenge of this game is figuring out where in the world to go next. The map gives some help, but not like some games. The mini games are fun and I could even do them so you know they weren't hard or I wouldn't even mention them. There is some effort, but for the most part, they are my kind of games. The story is excellent. It has a beginning a middle and an end. The story is consistent with the theme and allows you to get involved with the characters if you wish. It is a great game. If you can get past the storyline being different than the other Blue Tea games I think you will enjoy it. I sure did and spent hours doing so. I highly recommend this game.
The Pied Piper of Hamelin back to seek revenge and infests the city of rats ... again! Game very well developed!! Excellent storyline, great cutscenes with amazing voice over, very nicely done graphics, very appropriate soundtrack. Several interactive HOS with good visibility. Not too difficult and the scenes are repeated. Great brand new mini games, some challenging and also previously known games, but fun. Three levels of difficulty...It has a map with tips on where activities have to be made, and a book with the objectives, and they come up as you move on. Be prepared to see lots and lots of rats! But also to have a great time of fun and entertainment! Just play... I bought it!
